It's also light, making it easy to move around the house during nap time and also for travel.

We love the fact that it's made from soft materials with mesh sides that are breathable, which promote airflow and ease of use. It is available in charcoal or oak with a range of melange fabrics that blend with all styles of decor. Anna found it to be sturdy and secure once attached to her bed. The legs snapped into place and the zippers were secured for safety. It took Anna about 10 minutes to put it together and didn't require any tools. There are clear instructions along with a video and customer support number in case you experience any issues.


Alongside the usual features you'd expect from a bedside crib, like being able to connect to your bed using a stay-in-place connector system and six height levels The CoZee comes with an additional incline option which can be used to help alleviate reflux or congestion in infants. It's also machine-washable, a necessity with all the dribble, vomit and snot that come with having a new baby!

The CoZee is a great option for keeping your child close during their first six months of acquiring the ability to sleep independently. It can be used as a changing station, cot or toddler bed. With the addition of a sofa bed extension pack, it could transform into an bed. Although it can't magically put your baby to sleep or feed them, it will rock them and send them off.

The Chicco Next2Me Magic

This is one of Chicco's more expensive options. It does have numerous excellent features. It can be used as either a side-sleeper, or a standalone crib that is suitable for babies from birth to six months. It's easy to open and close the side panel using a new mechanism. It's also more adjustable than its predecessor, having 11 different height settings and retractable legs for a secure installation underneath any bed.

Our testers were impressed with the simple access to the side panel that can be moved up and down at the touch of a button. This was particularly useful during nighttime feedings as they could reach in and pick their baby up without disturbing them up.

It is possible to lower the side panel itself but this is not recommended, because it increases the chance that your child will get out of the cot. However, the safety locking mechanism guarantees that it can only stay down when attached to the parent's bed correctly. This is a wonderful feature to have for peace of mind, particularly when you're breastfeeding and need frequent night feeds.

The Chicco Next2Me Magic is designed to be a perfect fit for any bed, including divan bases and beds with drawers due to the telescopic legs. It also comes with tilting functions to help babies who are refluxy and a rocking mode that can soothe them back to sleep after eating. It's also very spacious and has excellent ventilation thanks to its mesh sides.

Our testers found the Next2Me Magic easy to set up and use, although it does come with a long instruction manual. It is a little heavier than other side-sleepers, but it can still be easily moved from one room to another. It's also foldable into a bag for travel which is ideal for those who want to transport it. The only issue our testers found is that the side panel did not stretch as much as other models. This made it a little harder to see the baby from your bed.

The Shnuggle Air

If you're looking for a bedside crib that will expand with your child then the Shnuggle Air is definitely worth a look. It's a co-sleeping crib that can be attached securely to your bed and can be turned into a chic cot when your baby is old enough. It is ideal for feeding your baby at night and strengthening your bond with your baby's new.

In contrast to other cribs for bed The Shnuggle Air is built with breathability in mind. The dual-view mesh side panels and hypoallergenic, breathable airflow mattress allow for maximum airflow, keeping your baby comfortable and cool. A gentle incline option helps to reduce colic and reflux, while the zip down side makes it easy to feed or comfort your baby during the night.

The kit for conversion to cot (sold separately) is also well-designed, with clear directions and everything you need to begin. It took us about an hour to complete and was surprisingly simple. The only downside was the lack of written captions on some of the pictures, which made it difficult to comprehend certain steps. Overall, it was a simple procedure and the quality of the materials used was excellent.
